The Elective Surgery Team coordinates the care of those patients that are on the St Vincent’s Hospital Elective Surgery and Endoscopy waiting lists in accordance with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Elective Surgery Access Policy. The team is responsible for the case management of all patients across all surgical specialties and providing timely access to elective surgery and Endoscopy here at St Vincent’s.
About the Role
You will work closely with both the Elective Surgery Manager and the Elective Surgery Team to manage the daily operations and management of the Elective Surgery and Endoscopy waitlist teams.
Classifications for this position will range from ZJ4- ZJ7 ($104,000 – $104,000 per annum pro rata).
Demonstrate leadership skills to deliver and achieve the ultimate vision within the team to treat our patients safely, in time, every time.
Ensure 100% of category 1 elective surgery patients are admitted within 30 days
Facilitate our Tier 1 Daily Management System meeting, identifying problems and barriers to scheduling all patients
Clearly identify and mange problems that are either urgent, chronic or require escalation to senior management
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
At least 5 years clinical, surgical nursing experience
Post Graduate Nursing Qualification
Demonstrated leadership experience
Awareness of the Elective Surgery Access Policy
Leadership qualities with proven ability to direct, negotiate, enthuse and encourage in a multidisciplinary setting.
